OK so maybe a few more words...

Despite the political nonsense, I've watched Eurovision every year for as long as I've been able to watch TV.

So almost half a century.

But I have never been able to pick the winner.

Til tonight!

Ok, officially last night!

And it also happens to be the first time I've ever watched the 'semi finals'.

I mean, they weren't even a thing for most of my Euro experiences!

But I had Bulgaria at the top of my list since semi #2 and declared it to everyone at the party tonight.

So...

On they come.

The room said no.

Until they didn't!

After about 30 seconds they were all converted!

And then they only went and won!

I tell you - I don't even think I'd have been any more excited if WE had actually won!

47+ years and at last - I backed the winner!!

Why am I sharing this?

Because sometimes you will absolutely know the answer, the path, the direction - but everyone else thinks you're nuts.

STAY NUTS!

Stay true to you. Go all in with what you believe in.

And those who disagree...

They are absolutely entitled to their opinion too. But do not let it distract you from YOUR opinion.

It's ok to 'do you' if it sometimes all gets a bit too much.

Even if it can't really be explained.

Even if it makes no sense - to you or anyone else.

It's ok to not be ok in whatever way you need.

It can help to talk it through with a loved one, or even a stranger.

But if talking isn't your thing, try writing it down.

I find it so much easier to see the words as they form in my brain, and once I start - I've written a novel before I know it!

So it seems very apt that I have just restarted my blog, during mental health awareness week.

Especially as it's all about my brain!

The good, the not so good, the creative chaos, the best ideas ever, the drop into oblivion, the good again...

All of it.

There's no 'secret sauce' inside, no quick fix tips.

Just my reality.

Which just might be similar to your reality.

And just might help you feel seen, understood, accepted.

New health journey incoming!

Soooo glad to get back into my pod - and yesterday was the lowest so far this time around...

And I've been prompted to up my sock game lol.

Thicker neoprene socks to be precise.

Got the gloves to match.

Now all I need is a matching neoprene bra for those sensitive bits!

This has also prompted me to up my fitness game!

I'm feeling loads better in my head so it's time to get feeling loads better in my body too.

But as with everything else in my life these days, I'm doing it MY way...

Baby steps for everything.

So I can build slowly - but consistently.

The summary of my week...

1 - AT LAST getting to wear this pink beauty that's been in my wardrobe all winter! Another crazy AllSaints bargain from Vinted! 💕

(And realising just how dusty my mirror is 🙈)

2&3 - After struggling with broken glasses for months, I've finally gotten around to ordering new ones 🤓

4 - Angel being 'Angel' aka demanding cuddles pretty much 24/7 and making sure I know when it's bedtime 😂 But also being ridiculously beautiful 🐈‍⬛

5 - Getting over excited at the prospect of a sub 1° dip only to be disappointed with 3.8° after I'd mixed the water around 😝🥶

6&7 - Getting to grips with my new glue gun and getting my outfit DONE for Rocky Horror 👠 💄 🫦 🎶 🎭

8 - Angel being erm, Yoda? The ears 😝

9 - Hitting a much better 2.6°

10 - But remembering extra protection is required for certain delicate areas 🧊 👙

11 - Defrosting my tootsies in the sun ☀️

12 - And realising I STILL haven't cleaned the mirror 😜😜😜

What a night! I went to see the Indie Runway, part of York Fashion Week, so I could whoop, cheer and maybe shed some joyful tears for my girl Tee!

Launching her first collection!

So bloody proud!

And the entire show was epic!

So I've started tagging my 2l bottles with the days of the week, so it's crystal clear I need to empty it as a minimum each day.

Some people think this is torture!

That I must be mad!

But ice dipping and cold water therapy have sooooo many incredible benefits...

Vagus nerve stimulation
Mood improvement
Mental focus and clarity
Increased metabolism

Full transparency though, this is my first dip in 8 months!!

I was doing so well last year, training my body and mind to actually CRAVE sitting in 2° water, surrounded by frozen water bottles.

But we had a spell of yuk weather at the start of autumn and I just couldn't get myself outside in the wet and wind.

So a week turned into a month and a month turned into a season, then all of a sudden it's almost May!

I'd normally have been very frustrated with myself for letting this slip happen, but these last 6-8 months have also coincided with a huge mindset reset.

I'd gone dark on socials, turned away new clients, barely left the house. I was so focused on getting ME back.

Somewhere in 2025 I got a bit lost. Trying to do ALL the things I wanted to achieve - at once!

And I still want those things, still have a plan for them but - I'm being way more relaxed in my approach.

Way more compassion for myself, for what I need, with no excuse or apology.

I'm very much pleasing me rather than everyone else.

So today, sitting in the sunshine, working on the laptop, I just decided I was going to jump into (well, climb into) my tub.

I'd cleaned and filled it a few days ago, in readiness of this hot weather but I'm not gonna lie, it was still a struggle thinking about actually getting back in.

Til today.

But as I hadn't planned it, there were no ice bottles ready, so I've had to make do with 10°!

Lack of planning also meant I didn't have my neoprene socks and THAT was a definite shock to the system.

I still managed 10 mins though and the rest of my body was absolutely fine, loving it tbh.

So here's to the restart.

Because my brain and body love it.

Anyone else love cold dipping? Do you keep it up through the winter??

New desk - same assistant 😸

So I ditched my big desk (actually it's in the shed, repurposed as a workbench for my other creative projects 😜) as I CANNOT sit upright, in a rigid chair for more than about 5 minutes.

ADHD fidgety chaos.

I've been using my sofa and a portable, fold up tabley thing for ages.

It's been less than ideal 🤣

So when this beauty popped up on marketplace - for free - it had to be acquired!

As you can see, Angel approves 🤣

It's designed for laptops, has a split top which not only tilts, it's height adjustable.

I can sit, stand and dance around it if I want to 😁

Perfect timing as I dust off the laptop and get myself back into badass mode with the biz!

My 'strip it back' method is about to start the implementation phase!

ONE 'product'
ONE focus

And I'm giving it my all until it's bloody built!

I'm the exact definition of the person I'm trying to help - but I've been unable to actually help myself.

So I'm telling myself that although 'just one thing' is sooooo hard to stick to...

Just one thing actually COMPLETED is wayyyy better than a gazillion things half finished.

It's not that I don't KNOW how to 'do' strategy, I'm hard-wired for it, it's how my brain naturally operates.

I'm very good at strategising others' businesses - not so much my own.

Failure? Definitely not.

Honesty? Every bloody time!

So what IS coming?

Spending a lot of time like this atm 🐈‍⬛

My absolutely precious little bundle, Angel.

Has basically ignored me for the best part of 4 years, pretty much since we moved to this house.

Choosing to spend her time clinging to 'Mummy' aka my mummy!

Of course, that's beautiful for my mama but... I've missed my munchkin a lot!

So to my absolute delight, a few weeks ago she decided to 'move upstairs' and chill with her Auntie Debs.

And by chill, I mean...

Sleep on her sofa - which is on my sofa.

Sleep on my lap - or laptop on my lap!

Sleep around my neck - check the pic...

And I couldn't be happier.

The love this tiny creature gives is beyond measure.

Oh and don't worry - she gets just as much right back, if not more!

What's the point of sharing this with you?

None.

Just sharing for my own pure joy.

But...

So here's the actual fucking thing!

2026 is back to basics year for me.

Whilst I've been building my platform and helping clients with design & branding support - I realised I was getting a bit lost.

Then Q3 2025 happened with all sorts of personal cr@p.

And I literally couldn't be a$$ed with ANY of it.

Nothing made sense.

Nothing lit me up.

It was like my light had properly blown out & fused the entire building!

What it actually was, was a sign to fucking stop.

Take a breath.

Reassess.

Reset.

And since I made the decision to do exactly that...

I feel renewed!

But I'm still taking a time out.

I'll still be doing a little bit of work - but all at a much slower pace, with no strict agenda.

And I'm enjoying a really fun side venture with zero pressure, just so I'm not sitting twiddling my thumbs & dwelling on all the 'shoulds', the expectations of others, the 'why am I so useless' moments.

So I will be quiet on socials, tbh I already have been very absent but that was because I'd built up a dread of having to 'do the do' to get visible so that I could tell the world about my platform.

Not because I don't know HOW to do it, I bloody teach this stuff.

But because it BORES me! The routine. The monotony. The rules 😝 I'm so not good with rules!

I WILL be sharing the odd update though, along with some less businessy stuff, because that's what my life is at the moment - less businessy!

And I WILL be back, with a renewed sense of purpose, a more refined business model & a reignited passion to support my fellow entrepreneurs.

I've decided to create daily voice notes, videos, blog drafts (well, as best I can stick to daily, there's that fucking routine thing again!) basically - a rant, a moment of inspiration or just because something in my head needs to get out!

And I'll share a lot of it with you along the way.

If this level of honesty doesn't appeal to you, then you're gonna want to unfollow as the real is only going to get real-er!

Friday... I'm in love...

I've not been online much in a few months and a huge part of that has been because I've felt a bit lost.

Lost, from loss.

One of my most favourite humans has gone, far too soon 😢

I was in Scotland yesterday for the funeral, the most beautiful service, perfectly brought together by my cousins and spouses.

It was hugely emotional, for many reasons, but also precious time spent with people I sadly don't get to see very often.

It's also been mentally challenging, now I'm fully embracing my ADHD and letting whatever needs to happen, happen.

But it's also been a huge learning experience, bonds reignited with love in abundance.

I am now even clearer in my mind about what I will no longer accept.

And I'm (almost!) ready to re-emerge braver, bolder and definitely badasser!

Inspired by the strength of others - determined to reclaim my own!

Why this picture is so much more than it seems...

I haven't actually been online in ages and, rarely post on a Saturday but...

This is the first PROPER meal I've cooked in probably 12+ months!

If you have ADHD or other neuro-traits, you'll get this - sometimes passions just...

Disappear.

Things you used to love doing become impossible.

Not because you're lazy.

Not because you don't care.

But because your brain just... can't prioritise it.

Cooking was MY thing.

I loved it.

If you 'know me' know me - you'll know I loved it!

Then suddenly - nothing.

Couldn't even be arsed with basics.

Honestly, I don't even know WHAT I've been living on for the last year!

But tonight?

I spent 3 hours in the kitchen creating this and loved every second.

My cooking passion is BACK babyyyyy!

And THIS is why I'm sharing it with you...

This is NOT a foodie post, 'heyyy look what I had for dinner' yawn, swipe!

This is a CONFIDENT BRAIN post.

MINDSET!

What ACTUALLY happened tonight...

It hit me - when something disappears from our beautiful, badass brains - it's not necessarily gone forever.

It's just... on pause.

Waiting for the right moment to return.

So don't beat yourself up for the things you can't do right now.

Don't force yourself to maintain passions because it's what you're 'supposed' to do.

Trust that when it's meant to come back, it will.

And ok, it's a little bit of a foodie post 😝

I give you... Slow roasted duck, the smoothest parsnip puree, balsamic pink onion, steamed sweetheart cabbage and a plate-licking-good cherry & port sauce.

Definitely worth the wait 🤘🏻

The shit I stopped doing once I realised my brain isn't fucking broken.

🩷 Ignoring what my body's telling me
You know when you've been non-stop at 110mph for 13hrs & suddenly you can't even open a text message, or talk 😜

I used to think I was 'brain dead' and I'd actually lost the plot. But hey - bollox to that! It's actually my brain screaming 'this is ENOUGH so you can stop now' - and I actually fucking listen!

🩷 Forcing myself to work like a neuro 'typical'
Even though the terminology pisses me off, given almost all the people I know are NOT typical and 'diverse' actually seems to be the norm...

But sitting at a desk for 8+ hours straight? Following the same soul-destroying routine daily? My brain literally goes on strike 😜

Now I work in crazy bursts, at the most random times (well, random to those 'typicals') fidget & reposition like I've got ants in my pants & structure my day around how I actually function - not some b/s coaches idea of 'professional' 🤣

🩷 Trying to be perfect so noone sees me struggle
The energy I wasted making everything look effortless whilst internally (and subconsciously) drowning was absolutely nuts!

Now? Messy gets it done and it's ENOUGH. Perfect is a myth and the word should be eradicated from history!

Spent years twisting myself into what I thought people expected.

Detailed plans always went to shit when hyperfocus kicked in - and I had no idea what that even was until last year. I used to map out every hour thinking that's what 'productive' people do.
Now I work with my brain, not against it. One thing at a time. Everything else is a bonus.

Regulation, regulation, regulation!

Nope, it's not a new TV show!

Same word - 3 different meanings - 3 different realities for ADHD!

💓Emotional regulation - too much, too fast, too loud! How do you escape the noise even when the room is silent?

🗒️ Routine regulation - the structure, consistency, steadiness. Erm, just nope!

🚫 Legal regulation - the rules, the control. I say F🤘🏻CK THE RULES! ’m not wired for conformity.

Navigating these is a daily - no, EVER present battle for neurobadasses.

It's confusing. Exhausting. Debilitating.

And it's taken me 51 years to realise THIS is what's been holding me back. Or rather, the lack of awareness , self compassion and the knowledge to be able to work it all out.

But wait for this....

I actually HAVE been working it out, I just didn't realise it!

When all that noise comes crashing in, I shut myself away. Usually, in my bed. And quite often, for a full 24 hours!

Whaaaaaat??? A whole day?

HELL YES!

I used to tell myself I was useless, lazy, a failure. For giving in to it. For hiding.

Now... I finally understand.

This is my refuge. My retreat. My reset button!

And I have zero shame!

And more than that... If I've needed to, I've stayed there for 2 days, 3!!

Because my brain needs whatever it needs and I give myself permission to provide it, GUILT FREE.

Finally, I understand why I could never look at myself in the mirror.

Not because I didn't like how I looked.

Well, yes ok it kinda was thar, but not in the way you think. I was looking at myself from behind a mask.

The 'professional' mask.
The 'acceptable' mask.
The 'yes man' mask (replace with whatever noun you like but you know what I mean).

And I daren't let that mask slip. But now...

Yes, I do mean 'what about ME'?!

Selfish? Maybe... But also not.

I'm actually very unf🤘🏻ckingselfish!

It’s in my DNA... To support, encourage, listen, cheer, hug.

Laugh with you. Cry with you. Scream the bloody walls down with you.

Whatever you need, you know I'll be it, if it's within my realm of capabilities.

But who does that for me? Who actually knows what I need? Does anyone really care?

No, this absolutely isn't a sympathy post and nor is it a pity party by the way,It's simply a reality check.

A reminder.

I won't stop giving 'me' to others. It truly is who I am.

But, just sometimes, I need some 'give' to come back to me.

And I'm truly grateful for those who do, even if I don't always see it right away or acknowledge it properly.

I rarely ask for help in the obvious ways so it means even more when those who do give it, do so without being prompted?

Wouldn't it be nice if more people could do the same?

I'm not even talking about grand gestures.

It's actually about 'seeing' people, reading between the lines, knowing what others need before they even realise it themselves.

It could be one word, one minute of your time or one big bosie (Scottish contingent - you'll know what I mean 🫂)!

I’ll always show up authentically, but also from a place of kindness.

Yes, this will often include the bits of me some might deem 'unacceptable', 'unprofessional', 'weird', 'awkward' (I've been called all of these and many more 😜)...

Yep, I said it.

Because isn't that how it feels sometimes?

I mean, every time you speak, there’s a chance someone, somewhere, will be offended right?

I’ve definitely been guilty of twisting myself in knots trying to avoid that though - over-analysing my content, editing my words just trying to keep everyone happy.

Yesterday, I mentioned truth as one of my non-negotiables.

So here it is...

I never INTEND to offend anyone, EVER.

I don't judge the choices and beliefs of others.

I don't target or exclude anyone.

It's just not who I am.

I AM one of the most compassionate, caring, accepting people you’ll ever meet.

But...

I’m also human.

I have emotions. I have opinions. I have triggers too.

I may occasionally say or do something that isn't aligned with you.

And constantly 'editing' myself isn’t my authenticity.

So instead, I commit to:

🤘🏻 Sharing my truth, always
🤘🏻 Listening to you and what you need
🤘🏻 Always learning about others differences
🤘🏻 Hoping you'll commit to doing the same for me...

And then that means...

Authenticity is ABSOLUTELY F🤘🏻CKING POSSIBLE!

As long as the people in your world accept you exactly as you are - and vice versa!

This week I hit a wall.

A f🤘🏻cking HUGE wall!

Whilst I had an awesome time at @ideas_fest there were some underlying factors that finally took their toll as I was heading home.

Asides from being physically broken lol, there were MULTIPLE tech issues with my phone and bank, then a bl00dy awful drive full of roadworks, wrong lane hoggers, the 45mph Brigade, on top of a duo of personal-life upset - and, did I mention the weather?

At one point I was literally screaming in the car! I mean, I pretty much give a running commentary whenever I drive but this? This was pure frustration and rage 😢

I think I may actually have imploded!

I hated people.

OK, not all people.

But there IS pretty much an entire A–Z of traits I’ve decided I'm no longer tolerating 😜

Not sure there's enough room here to share it all lol but here's the 'best bits'...

Selfishness
Ignorance
Cuntine$$! (well if it's good enough for @theoliviacolman_ lol)

And i just realised, it spells...

BASIC!
